Round 1 “very realistic” for bargain Hawthorn recruit, says Doc Larkins
It was a trade that raised plenty of eyebrows, given his ability, and rival fans may be even more worked up now.
Dr Peter Larkins says it’s very realistic for Tom Scully to be playing for Hawthorn in round 1.
The former GWS and Melbourne midfielder has been plagued by injury of late, traded to the Hawks for a fourth-round draft pick.
The deal was defended largely on the back of Scully’s injury struggles.
But Doc Larkins has backed the Hawks to get him right and said the syndesmosis injury he suffered in his final year at the Giants should be well and truly behind him.
“Given that it’s six or seven months now … let’s get him into a good December and a good January and hopefully we would see that the first round is very realistic for Scully,” the leading sports medico said.
