RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Police have busted 200 drivers for travelling in the emergency lane on the Western Ring Road at Sunshine.

The Rumour File heard on Monday that on Friday over 100 people were caught in the emergency lane.

Since then, police confirmed to 3AW Breakfast that 200 people received infringements and were fined $311.

Four other drivers were charged with drink driving offences and another four had their cars impounded.

This operation was part of Operation Arid.
