Flinders Street Station set to be restored to its original state
RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Flinders Street station will be restored to its original 1910 colours as part of the $100 million dollar revamp.
The iconic railway station will be repainted in its original colour scheme as first reported on the Rumour File in late September.
It will be a lighter tone than the current colour and will replicate the building’s 1910 appearance.
It is expected the paint job will start within months and will carried out in stages until the end of the next year.
The station has been painted five times since those original colours.
The current mustard colour will be replaced by a lighter stone colour, while the maroon section and green trimmings will be darkened.
