King Kong, the Australian stage show, is set to premiere on Broadway within a matter of hours.

It all began at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre in 2013 and has finally made its way to the great wide way.

Businessman and owner of Global Creatures, who created the show, Gerry Ryan told Ross and John the show has been in rehearsal in New York for four months, and the response from the public has been overwhelmingly positive.

“It’s pretty special, taking this big monkey from Australia all the way to Broadway,” Gerry said.

“We’re up to $7 million (US) in presales, we had a budget of six so we’re running ahead.

“It’s all positive.”
