Strong winds whip up dust in Melbourne’s west as health officials issue moderate thunderstorm asthma risk
Strong winds have whipped up dust in Melbourne’s west at Werribee, Hoppers Crossing and Truganina.
Callers to 3AW Breakfast reported small dust storms
There is also a forecast for moderate thunderstorm asthma in some parts of the state.
Wind gusts of over 100km/hr have been recored in the alpine areas.

Severe weather warnings have been issued for damaging winds in for the Central, East Gippsland, South West, North Central, West and South Gippsland and parts of Northern Country, North East and Wimmera Forecast Districts.
A moderate thuderstorm asthma risk has been forecast for Central, West and South Gippsland, East Gippsland, North East, Northern Country, North Central areas.
There is a forecast for MODERATE Thunderstorm Asthma in many districts across Victoria today.
People should be prepared and not alarmed.
