A new survey suggests young adults struggle with the most simple of domestic tasks, with a quarter unable to boil an egg and one third hopeless at changing a light bulb.

But the stat that caught the eye of Ross and John was that nearly 70 per cent can’t wire a plug.

Ross joked that he’d ‘end up on the news’ if he attempted to wire a plug.

Electrician Dean Mighell said it should be left to the experts. 

‘That’s secret electrician’s business,’ he said.

‘Some of the things you don’t do is attempt your own wiring – it’s a no-go zone.’
