It’s official – Myrtleford has Victoria’s best tap water.

The Water Industry Operators Association of Australia has tested the entire state, and North East Water took out the title.

Chief water taster Craig Matheson told Tom Elliott water from the Myrtleford treatment plant will now represent Victoria in the national competition.

Mr Matheson said testers cleanse their palates between samples by smelling coffee beans.
