A homeless drug addict who murdered a stranger at Sunshine has been jailed for 21 years.

Dion Laban punched, kicked and stomped on Joel Desgranges following a chance encounter in December last year.

He then dumped the 59-year-old’s body in Kororoit Creek.

Laban, 32, has had his visa cancelled and will be deported to New Zealand after serving his jail term.

He’ll serve a minimum of 17 years.
