The Federal Government has unveiled a four-point plan to address the impacts of migration and congestion.

Among the proposed changes, new visa conditions would force thousands of migrants to live outside Melbourne and Sydney for five years.

The government will also consider funding more major road and rail networks.

60 per cent of Australia’s population growth now comes from migration, with China and India the largest contributors.

“The fabric of the country is changing and it’s becoming congested,” Neil Mitchell said on Tuesday.

“It is not racist to question this.

“It’s sensible.

“It’s the right way to go.

“It is reasonable to debate the issue of immigration because of it’s implications for the fabric of this country.”

He spoke with the minister for infrastructure and population, Alan Tudge, about the plan.
