Investigation promised over ‘dodgy’ Peninsula Link point-to-point cameras
The Road Safety Camera Commissioner has promised a thorough review into the integrity of point-to-point speed cameras along Peninsula Link.
A group of motorists are threatening class action after they were nabbed travelling at 108 kilometres an hour.
But they say there’s something dodgy about the cameras, and most claim they were using cruise control.
Commissioner John Voyage acknowledged his predecessor already investigated the cameras, but said his review will delve deeper.
‘There is certainly public disquiet – and the integrity of the cameras is crucial to the part of the road safety camera system,’ he told Neil Mitchell.
Mr Voyage has encouraged anyone with dashcam footage or other evidence to contact him as part of the investigation.
‘I come to it with an open mind, it’s absolutely possible there’s a problem there,’ he said.
