Detective Sergeant Andrew Beams told 3AW Drive the two offenders were still on the run.

“We’ve attempted to intecept the game car in dead-end street in a safe factory area but the female driver took evasive action,” he said.

“The car then drove erratically and landed up at the Monash University campus in Caulfield.”

A black Mercedes with rear damage was was spotted being followed by multiple marked and unmarked police cars down Burke Road towards Dandenong Road.

Caller Brandon from Notting Hill told Neil a police chopper was circling the incident.

“(The car) zipped across all four lanes and almost collected myself and a few other vehicles,” he said.

“The tyres had been punctured and the car was easily going 80 or 90 kilometres per hour.

“The closest police car was an unmarked cop car about 250 metres behind and then behind that, there were another five or six cars police car by the time I witnessed it.”

Caller Brett described the “crazy” police chase.

“A car drived up to the pavement in Lenton Street, Moorabbin near the new St.Kilda football ground.”
