Country footballer who fled police during final arrested
A country footballer who fled police at half-time of a semi-final on Saturday has been arrested in Victoria.
Jarrah Maksymow, 26, was playing for Henty in the Hume League, near Albury, when he took off without warning at the main break.
It soon emerged police had come to the ground, seeking to arrest the former AFL prospect for assault, break and enter and traffic offences.
After two nights on the run, Maksymow was arrested at a Wodonga home.
New South Wales police are expected to make an application to have him extradite him over the border.
