Police have released CCTV after a woman was threatened with a screwdriver and held captive in an apartment building in the CBD last month.

The 24-year-old woman returned to her Little Lonsdale Street home about 3.30am on Saturday, 3 August.

She got into the lift and was followed inside by a man who threatened her with a screwdriver.

She managed to run to the safety of her apartment and the offender fled.

The man is perceived to be Asian in appearance, with black hair and between 163-165cm tall.

He was wearing a dark-coloured zipped hoodie, with a white baseball cap with “WEST” written on the front in black.
