‘Gun, drugs, cash’: Dramatic arrest near northern suburbs school

Police have revealed a man who 3AW callers saw surrounded by a large police presence in Melbourne’s north was allegedly carrying a gun.
Word On The Street callers Danielle and Andrew told Tom Elliott up to 10 officers were arresting a man in Watsonia, near Lyola College.
Police later said a 46-year-old had been arrested with a gun, drugs and cash.
The drama started when he was spotted driving an allegedly stolen car.
When approached by officers, they say he ran away.
However, police made the arrest a short time later on Grimshaw St, about 4.30pm.
He was later charged with conduct endangering life and theft of motor vehicle, as well as drug, firearms and assault-related offences.
He was remanded to appear before Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court today.
