Matthew Lloyd has an idea for Brendon Goddard’s future if it’s not at Essendon.

Goddard, 33, is out of contract at the end of this year, having yet to re-sign with the Bombers.

Lloyd told 3AW Football the veteran would be a good fit for the Gold Coast if the Dons don’t want him.

“He’d really rattle the cages of some of those young Suns,” Lloydy said.

“I don’t think it’s the worst suggestion.”

Lloyd said Goddard could play a similar role to the one Luke Hodge is playing at Brisbane.
