Australian cricket great Ian Chappell has given a scathing assessment of Mitch Marsh’s Test future.

Marsh failed to bother the scorers as Australia collapsed on day two of the First Test in Perth.

Chappell did not hold back in assessing his LBW dismissal.

‘I can’t believe how much he missed that ball by,’ the Macquarie Cricket expert told Sports Today.

‘That’s what staggered me the most.

‘He hasn’t given any indication yet that he’s good enough to bat at six and make big scores in Test cricket and that’s a problem for Australia and the way they’re batting.’
