Dwayne Russell warns one of the AFL’s ‘great inequities’ could be on the way
Dwayne Russell has foreshadowed one of the “great inequities” of the game.
That is, if Geelong earns a home final, it will only play in Geelong if it against a non-Victorian team.
Against a Melbourne-based side, the final would be played at the MCG.
Dwayne told 3AW Football it doesn’t make sense when compared with GWS’ situation.
“I’m told that if the Giants are to host a final against the Swans this year, that final will be at Spotless Stadium,” Dwayne said.
“It is one of the big inequities of the competition.”
Spotless Stadium, GWS’ home ground, has a significantly lower capacity than the SCG.
