Jimmy Bartel says players know their teammates are exploring their options.

After Nathan Buckley admitted to having met with Tom Lynch, Jimmy told 3AW Football all players know their teammates are holding negotiations behind the scenes.

Jimmy said it’s wrong to think players are oblivious.

“You’re making the assumption players are dumb,” he said.

“Players are well and truly aware of what’s going on. They can tell pretty quickly whether a player’s committed or not.

“I don’t know why we’re so immature about free agency and targeting players.”
