Man arrested after pursuit of allegedly stolen car
A man has been arrested following reports of a police pursuit in Melbourne’s north east.
Susan rang Neil Mitchell from the Eastern Freeway turn-off on Burke Road.
‘It’s all blocked off,’ she said.
Police have since confirmed they arrested a 47-year-old Brunswick West man following the pursuit of an allegedly stolen vehicle.
They’ve been told the man attended a Little River service station at 8.15am on Thursday, filled the vehicle with petrol and then took off without paying.
Police pursued the man all the way to Melbourne, before he was arrested in Kew at 10.40am.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
