Ross and John search for Hygge – and find it!
There is no word more synonymous with Denmark and the Danish lifestyle than ‘hygge‘.
But what is it?
A popular definition:
“Creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people.”
But many say that’s over simplistic, and insist hygge can’t be truly defined in English.
So Ross and John walked the streets of Copenhagen with hygge expert Jacob, from Urban Adventures, in search for hygge (pronounced who-geh) — and apparently they found it in a small, Instagram-able street!

Isabella Arendt, from the Happiness Research Institute explained to the boys why the Danes are just so happy.
“You trust your fellow citizens, you trust the government, you trust the police, you trust that the high taxes are spent well, 9/10 Danes pay their taxes happily,” she said.
“We don’t have to worry, you don’t have to worry about childcare, sending your kids to school, you don’t have to worry about elder care, free hospitals, free universities, free roads.”
ROSS: All of a sudden I feel happier!
JOHN: So do I!
