Four Officeworks stores hit by young gangs who celebrated stealing headphones and speakers
RUMOUR CONFIRMED: It’s been revealed four Officeworks stores across Melbourne were hit by thieves on Saturday.
3AW Breakfast’s Rumour File was told about a robbery at the South Yarra store.
Police then revealed on 3AW Mornings that three other stores – at Chadstone, Carnegie and Highett – had also been targeted that same day.
More than a dozen youths stormed the South Yarra store and stole products including headphones and speakers.
Police believe the group then hopped on a train and travelled to their next target.

‘Officeworks can confirm that there were incidents involving theft at four of its stores in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne on Saturday,’ the company said in a statement.
‘No Officeworks team members or customers were harmed and all affected stores remain open today with a heightened level of security.
‘As the incidents are currently under police investigation, we are unable to provide further comment at this time.’
A witness told Ross and John the gang left the South Yarra store cheering and holding their loot above their heads.
