Rumour confirmed: Bashed footy fan undergoes surgery after ‘cowardly act’
RUMOUR CONFIRMED
A footy fan has been left with a broken jaw after he was hit from behind during an ugly incident involving a group of Collingwood fans after the Queen’s Birthday clash.
Michael Derham told Ross and John it all started after the game outside the MCG as he got on his bike to ride home.
“This guy jokingly tried to take my bike, I told him to get off,” he said.
“As I was riding off, his four mates tried to stop me.”
The 31-year-old described it as a “cowardly act” and says he was hit from behind.
It comes after a recent spate of violent spectator brawls at footy matches.
