A pasta factory in Somerton has gone up in flames.

More than 50 firefighters were called to fight the blaze on Saturday afternoon.

The fire on Fillo Drive at Somerton started around 12.30pm and spans around 80m in length.

It sent heavy smoke through the surrounding suburbs.

The building is at risk of structural collapse.

Two people were evacuated and no one has been injured.
