Passengers have been trapped after after a bus and car collided in Brunswick this morning.

The incident happened at the corner of Sydney Road and Glenlyon Road about 6am.

3AW has been told there are no injuries, however the car was left wedged under the bus.

The door was jammed, meaning passengers were unable to disembark.

Police were directing traffic until the bus moved on shortly before 7am.

Only one lane remains closed but traffic remains heavy with a backlog of cars and trams making their way through the area.

VicRoads has urged drivers to avoid the area if possible.
