Victoria is set to lose two private hospitals.

This morning Healthscope informed the stock exchange of its decision to close the Cotham Private Hospital in Kew and the Geelong Private Hospital.

In the announcement, the company said the hospitals are “under-performing”.

Cotham has 63 beds and Geelong has 107.

The hospitals are due to close within four weeks, leaving more than 400 people out of work.
