Ten people have died in a shooting at a high school in Texas
Ten people have died in a shooting at a high school in Santa Fe, Texas.
Ten others are injured.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott said a teenager used two firearms – a shotgun and a revolver – both legally owned by his father.
The teenager has been charged with murder and has been denied bail.
The gun control debate is likely to be resumed in the wake of the tragedy.
“We need to do more than just pray for the victims and their families,” Mr Abbott said.
“It’s time in Texas that we step up and make sure this tragedy is never repeated ever again in the history of the state of Texas.”
Law enforcement told local media nine students and one teacher died in the shooting.
