Seven people have been injured in a crash in Melbourne’s south-eastern outskirts.

A van merging onto the Princes Highway from Tynong North was hit by a west-bound car about 11:20pm.

A third car, also travelling west on Princes Highway, then smashed into the van and crashed into a barrier.

Seven people were treated at the scene by paramedics.

Two of those people, a man and a woman, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
