Research has breakfast looking sunny side up
A cracking new study has delivered good news for egg lovers, with research showing you can eat up to a dozen a week without adverse health consequences.
The study by the University of Sydney and the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital has found consuming up to 12 eggs a week won’t increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.
University of Sydney Professor, Dr Nick Fuller, told Ross and John the study discredits what we’ve previously believed.
“The higher diet did not increase their risk of heart disease, diabetes and didn’t increase their blood cholesterol level,” Dr Fuller said.
While the National Heart Foundation’s recommendation might seem like a lot, other western countries don’t have a limit at all.
“You have different guidelines around the world at the moment.
“The UK tells us can have as many as you want, the US recently abolished their limits on dietary cholesterol.”
