YOUR TOWN: 3AW Drive visits Doncaster, the suburb rapidly becoming ‘apartment city’
Doncaster is fast-becoming an ‘apartment city’ but some residents say the development is destroying the leafy eastern suburb.
3AW Drive visited Doncaster for this week’s Your Town, and found out residents are still fighting for a rail link and better public transport.
And the suburb is booming, with a median house price at $1.186 million and dozens of new apartments popping up.
John Rowe recently moved in to one of Doncaster’s apartment complexes and said he loved the lifestyle.
‘My wife and I, and our dog, love it,’ he told Tom Elliott.
He said one of the biggest issues was speeding drivers on Tram Road at night.
Caller Liz has lived in Doncaster for 38 years and said over-population was ‘killing the area.’
