The Federal Court has failed to make a decision on whether a wheelie bin is a vehicle
Here is a whole lot of trash talk.
Millions of dollars currently hinge on the outcome of a Federal Court bid – over the definition of a wheelie bin.
At the centre of the debate are the wheels, and whether or not a bin should be considered a vehicle.
Maker Sulo is claiming they should get a tariff exemption because a bin with wheels does far more than simply hold litter.
They also argue the level of tax it pays to import wheels for its ‘mobile garbage bins’ turns on the outcome.
A 24-page decision has failed to settle on an answer, referring the question back to Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
Ross and John put the question to the people.
