Richmond has kicked away for a 46-point win.

Youngster Jack Higgins led the way with three goals in just his second game.

Higgins told 3AW Football he just loves playing footy.

“Me, dad, friends at school, we’d always kick the footy around,” he said.

“It’s been a dream since I came out of the womb!”

HALF TIME

Richmond is on top here, leading by 20 points at the main break.

Jimmy Bartel said Melbourne’s lucky to still be in it.

“With 18 inside 50s in the second quarter, Richmond could have torched this one,” he said.

Daniel Harford pointed out the Dees have kicked three goals in five quarters.

“What they’re doing isn’t working,” Harf said.

Injured Melbourne gun Jordan Lewis said Simon Goodwin’s job would have been “easy” this week.

The Demons kicked just one goal after quarter time in a heavy defeat to Lewis’ former club Hawthorn.

And the veteran told 3AW Football the players did not need to motivated during the week.

“If we had no meetings this week, you would not have to worry about someone’s attitude,” Lewis told 3AW Football.

“It’s when you have three or four wins on the trot, people get comfortable.

“These are the easy weeks for coaches.”
