A second Melbourne club has turned its back on pokies.

Following North Melbourne’s lead, Melbourne announced on Wednesday it will make moves to exit the gaming industry.

The Demons’ current gaming licence runs until 2022.

Chairman Glen Bartlett said it was an “important” day for the club.
