Sports psychologist baffled by Crows’ controversial camp
A sports psychologist says he cannot understand why Adelaide players were subjected to the Richmond club song during what’s now become a controversial pre-season camp.
There are reports several players were left distressed by events on their trip to the Gold Coast.
It’s since been revealed one of the sessions saw players forced to listen to “Oh We’re From Tigerland” on repeat.
Sports psychologist Gavin Freeman told Ross and John it was baffling.
“You would really hope there was a lot of researching and science that went into this, but I’m not convinced there was,” he said.
“I have no clue why they’d want to use it.”
Mr Freeman said studies had shown that making athletes angry was in fact detrimental, not helpful, to their performance.
