Four people have been injured and two are fighting for life after alleged stabbings in Melbourne and Gippsland this morning.
Police say two people were stabbed in an altercation on McDonald Street in Morwell (pictured above) about 3.30am.
They allege a man, 54, assaulted his female partner, 57, and a woman, 35. The 35-year-old woman is not related to the couple, it’s believed she came to the woman’s aid before before both women were stabbed.
The pair sustained life threatening injuries and were airlifted to Melbourne.
Police used a taser to subdue the man who was airlifted to hospital with what is believed to be serious self-inflicted injuries.
He remains under hospital guard.
