It’s been revealed the mother charged with the murder of her 8-year-old son on the Mornington Peninsula had called 000.

The woman, 41, faced an out of sessions court hearing overnight charged with the murder of the boy.

The boy’s body was found shortly after 1.30pm yesterday at a property on Alma Street in Tootgarook (pictured above).

Police arrested his mother at the scene.

Exact circumstances are yet to be determined. Homicide detectives are investigating whether the child was suffocated.
