A car 3AW Breakfast listeners reported driving erratically in Williamstown has been involved in a head-on smash in Melbourne’s north.

The smashed happened at Broadmeadows only 16 minutes after a damaged car was reported on 3AW to be swerving in Williamstown.

Police also saw the car driving erratically in Essendon between the initial sighting and the smash.

When they attempted to stop the car, it sped off.

A man, 29, was arrested at the scene of the subsequent collision, at the intersection of Mickleham Road and Broadmeadows Road, Gladstone Park.

He sustained facial injuries.

The other driver, a man, suffered minor injuries.
