How-to guide on getting out of Myki fines launches online
A new website has been launched to help passengers become “confident commuters” and get out of paying Myki fines.
Last year on-the-spot Myki fines were scrapped, in part thanks to a campaign from the Liberty Victoria’s Rights Advocacy Project.
The group has launched a new project today, aimed to assist commuters with getting out of Myki fines.
Emma Buckley-Lennox, founder of Confident Commuter, told Tom Elliott the site is aimed at people who have made honest mistakes.
“The government has said they are only out to catch recidivist offenders,” Emma said.
“We give people an understanding of their rights and options when dealing with ticket inspectors.
“It also helps them write an application for an internal review.”
