A woman has stared down a man who was wearing a Chux Superwipe while attempting to hijack her car in Melbourne’s east.

Police have released a digital image of the offender, who was armed with a crowbar.

He’s described as tanned, wearing a beanie and using what appears to be a Chux dishcloth as a mask.

I suppose he made a clean getaway…

They say he approached a woman who was sitting in her white Mercedes Benz at Mullum Mullum Reserve in Donvale about 1pm on Sunday.

He demanded the women exit her car.

She refused, and the man eventually ran away.

Police are today calling for witnesses, particularly the driver of a dark-coloured ute seen in the area at the time.
