The first wicket at the new stadium was not a wicket
The first wicket at Perth’s new stadium was not a wicket at all.
Mitch Starc thought he had the first wicket when England opener Jason Roy edged to Tim Paine in the third over of the final ODI, the first match at Optus Stadium.
But the catch was ruled out when umpires reviewed Starc’s front foot and found he had overstepped.
Mitch Starc has Roy edging to the keeper, but it’s a no-ball!

The first wicket was eventually taken by AJ Tye, when Jason Roy skied a catch off his bowling to Josh Hazlewood at mid-on.
