The surprising truth about trampoline safety prompts crackdown calls
There are calls for a crackdown on trampoline safety standards in Australia after seven out of eight popular models failed to meet safety checks by consumer advocate Choice.
Recent research showed that one in six children who jumped on a trampoline sustained an injury.
But safety standards are currently voluntary, prompting Choice to call for them to be made mandatory.

“There’s parts of the voluntary standard that we think are really important,” Stefanie Menezes from Choice told 3AW Breakfast.
“These included having a net and safety enclosure and making sure that the structural integrity of frame withholds a standard time.”
“The government has the power to do this.”
