The CFMEU has cancelled plans for a strike at Victoria’s largest power station so as not to effect the states electricity supply.

The union announced this morning it would walk off the job for 24 hours at the Loy Yang Power Plant.

It had hoped the station would continue to operate, but AGL announced it would have to shut the plant down.

The government responded by applying to terminate the dispute at the Fair Work Commission.
