Kangaroo caught cooling off in suburban backyard pool
It wasn’t just humans trying to escape the blistering heat over the weekend, with a kangaroo caught taking a dip in the backyard pool of a home in Melbourne’s east.
Clare Nankivell from Fairfield, told 3AW Mornings she woke about 6am yesterday to find a kangaroo bounding into her pool.
“My husband heard some crashing and banging next door, then all of a sudden a kangaroo bounced past him,” Clare said.
“Swished past him, straight into the pool!”

After the creature had a short swim, it took about 15 minutes to get the animal out, before it bounced over the fence and out onto Station Street.
