Heartless thieves target SES in Melbourne’s north-west
The Essendon SES unit has been hit by heartless thieves in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
The locks on the front gate at 25 Corio Street, Moonee Ponds, were cut early yesterday, thieves making off with a three-month-old trailer.
Unit Controller John Bates told Justin and Kate it’s going to put their community at a disadvantage.
“At the moment we’ve got nothing, it’s custom built,” he said.
“It’s basically going to put the people of Moonee Ponds at a disadvantage.”

The trailer was just three-months-old, a replacement for the 20-year-old trailer the unit had previously.
Anyone who spots the trailer is asked to contact police.
