Western Australia and Perth Scorchers coach Justin Langer says Mitch Marsh deserves his spot in the Test side.

“I am really happy he has been selected,” Langer said.

Mitch Marsh was made captain of WA, replacing Adam Voges.

Langer says he has exceeded expectations.

“He has started the season well for Western Australia. He was given the captaincy, we weren’t sure how that will go.”

“He has done what the selectors have asked him to do – go away, make some runs, and show us that you could earn the right to be the number six for Australia.”
