Patti Newton has been robbed, the thieves making off with a bootload of presents that were for her husband, children and grandchildren.

The Aussie icon and 3AW regular says she got her Christmas shopping done early because as she was preparing for the Knox carols when the thieves broke into her car late last week.

Mrs Newton has told 3AW’s Tony Jones it’s come as a shock.

‘The thing is, nobody was hurt. You have to take the good with the bad I guess.’

She says, ‘It was a very big shock, you just feel as though it’s awful that someone has been in your car and touched your things.’
