“Pretty dangerous”: Concerns over companies’ plans to freeze employees’ eggs
Health Minister Jill Hennessy has told Neil Mitchell she has ethical concerns over reports prominent companies are approaching fertility clinics about freezing employees’ eggs.
“Women should not be discouraged from having children if they want to have children,” Ms Hennessy said.
The Minister said the practice came too close to the illegal act of paying for human tissue.

Earlier Senior Research fellow at Monash University, Dr Karin Hammarberg told Ross and John theoretically the practice does work.
“The thing is, there’s no guarantee,” she said.
“There’s a part of me that thinks its better for the company than for the woman.”

Larger tech companies in the United States, such as Apple and Facebook, already offer female staff the option.
