Walking at night survey reveals disturbing stats
A new study has found just 15% of young women feel safe walking their local streets at night.
The study by Victoria Walks, of more than 1000 people aged between 15 and 20 found personal safety concerns stop women walking after dark.
Executive Officer of Victoria Walks, Ben Rossiter told Neil Mitchell the results are “disturbing”
“We know it’s an issue for a lot of adult women but we are disturbed by the extent of it,” Mr Rossiter said.
“About 40% of young people don’t feel comfortable walking in their neighbourhoods.”
