Man freed after dramatic trench rescue in Essendon

LATEST: A man has been freed after he became trapped in mud after a trench collapsed in Essendon.
Emergency services are at the scene, where roadworks have been underway on Lincoln Road and Florence Street.
It’s believed the accident happened just after 2.30pm.
Word on the Street caller Marianne said there were workers undertaking roadworks in the area.
Paramedics are on the scene.
