A driver has punched a cyclist in a frightening road rage attack.

3AW listener Robert told Tom Elliott he saw the two arguing on Pascoe Vale road in Essendon just before 4pm on Monday.

After the cyclist punched the car’s side view mirror, the clash continued into a side street.

“The car driver just went ‘bang’,” Robert said.

“He knocked him flat on the nature strip.”
