Someone is blowing up letterboxes in Geelong.

Nine letterboxes and phone boxes across the Bellarine region have been significantly damaged over the past few months.

Detective Senior Constable Bianca Shirra told Neil Mitchell the perpetrator is facing charges relating to criminal damage and arson.

“Evidence indicates that commercial fireworks are being used,” Ms Shirra said.
